Resident Evil Veronica is officially getting the modern remake treatment — and yes, it is confirmed to be a fully third-person experience.

This is not being treated like a side chapter. Capcom reportedly considers Veronica just as important as the numbered Resident Evil titles, and the remake is being handled by the same team behind Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake. That alone says a lot about the scale they are aiming for.

Expect modernized gameplay, a reimagined storyline, and vividly detailed graphics, with certain elements being retuned for a new generation of survival horror. The Claire detail is especially interesting: this story takes place only three months after RE2, meaning she has survived Raccoon City, but she is still not quite the seasoned veteran fans know later on.

Also, Capcom has shut down the fan theory that the “V” in REV is supposed to stand for the number five. The idea was to make Veronica feel like one impactful word, in line with the identity of other major Resident Evil entries.

This could be one of the most important remakes in the franchise if they land the tone, pacing, and survival-horror pressure.
