LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska softball continued its offseason rebuild Tuesday by adding another experienced arm to its pitching staff.

Former Ohio State pitcher Lorin Boutte announced her transfer to Nebraska, becoming the Huskers' second major portal addition in the circle following the commitment of former New Mexico State standout Faith Aragon.

Boutte arrives in Lincoln with two seasons of collegiate experience and an impressive freshman campaign on her résumé.

The St. Charles, Missouri, native earned Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors in 2025 after posting a 21-9 record for the Buckeyes. Her 21 victories ranked fourth in the Big Ten and 24th nationally. Boutte logged 152.1 innings across 37 appearances while striking out 127 batters.

She also earned Freshman All-America honors from both Softball America and D1 Softball and was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week during the season.

Injuries limited Boutte during the 2026 campaign, as she finished with a 7-7 record and a 5.99 ERA.

Despite those setbacks, Nebraska head coach Rhonda Revelle believes Boutte's potential remains high.

"Lorin has excellent vertical movement up and down in the zone," Revelle said. "We believe her best days are ahead of her, as her ceiling is high. We are excited to add Lorin Boutte, a right-handed pitcher, to our pitching staff."

Boutte joins a rapidly evolving Nebraska pitching staff following the graduation of multiple-time National Player of the Year Jordy Frahm.

The Huskers have already added Aragon, one of the nation's top two-way players. Aragon is coming off a standout season at New Mexico State in which she went 21-10 with a school-record 244 strikeouts while also hitting .369 with seven home runs.

Both transfers will now have the opportunity to work under Frahm, who recently transitioned from Nebraska's ace to a position on Rhonda Revelle's coaching staff as the program's new pitching coach.

The additions also bolster a staff that returns Big Ten Freshman of the Year Alexis Jensen, who won 25 games and struck out 217 batters during her record-setting freshman season.

Combined, Aragon and Jensen produced 46 victories and 467 strikeouts in 2026, while Boutte adds another proven arm with postseason aspirations.

"We believe we have a group of pitchers that can compete and have success against any team in the country," Revelle said.

With Aragon and Boutte now in the fold and Jensen returning, Nebraska's roster continues to take shape as the Huskers look to build on their Women's College World Series appearance and remain among the nation's elite programs in 2027.
