Join us in wishing a very happy 46th birthday to Oliver, our male orangutan! 🦧🎉
Oliver is the second-oldest male Sumatran Orangutan, surpassed only by his brother Benny at Zoo Atlanta.

Born on June 14, 1980, Oliver joined the Birmingham Zoo in 1987, making him one of our longest-residing animal ambassadors. Thanks to his gentle personality and striking appearance, he has remained a favorite among guests and staff for decades.
This year’s birthday celebration was space-themed because Oliver is truly out of this world! 🌎✨
