It’s official, combat has become “gamified”...with operators in Ukraine scoring points for hitting targets that can be redeemed for gear.  Check out the article by Rudy Ruitenberg @ DefenseNews (🔗 in bio) where he outlines how unmanned systems now account for more than 80% of enemy targets destroyed in the Ukraine conflict.  The vast majority of the drones were built in Ukraine—in 2025, Ukrainian forces logged 819,737 video-verified drone strikes, according to their Ministry of Defence. Every hit is then recorded, verified, and scored. Under the “Army of Drones” initiative, operators participate in an electronic points system that rewards units for “confirmed results.” Units earn points for successful strikes and can spend them in the Brave1 marketplace on drones, electronic warfare systems, and other gear—a development some describe as the true “gamification” of modern warfare.

The data gained is granular: roughly 240,000 strikes against personnel, 62,000 against light vehicles, 29,000 against heavy vehicles, and 32,000 against enemy UAVs. Ukraine plans to expand the system beyond drones, awarding points for air defense, army aviation, and snipers...all with the goal of disrupting Russian logistics, hunting enemy UAV crews, and prioritizing longer-range effects through weighted incentives/bonuses.
