It was a bit lost in all the Venezuela & Iran news...but this weekend the U.S. launched large-scale precision airstrikes against a bunch of ISIS targets across Syria...According to U.S. Central Command, more than 35 ISIS targets were struck with more than two dozen U.S. aircraft—all aimed to dismantle the ISIS operational network and retailiation for the Dec 13th insider attack that killed two U.S. service members.

The strikes were conducted under Operation Hawkeye Strike, named in honor of Sgt. Edgar Brian Torres Tovar and Sgt. William Nathaniel Howard—the two U.S. soldiers killed in Palmyra on Dec. 13 during an insider attack linked to ISIS. U.S. officials say the operation focused on ISIS infrastructure, weapons storage sites, and logistics hubs spread across multiple regions of Syria. While enemy casualty numbers remain unconfirmed, officials described the mission as “highly successful.”

Secretary of War Hegseth said the strikes show how the U.S. “will never forget, and never relent,”—referencing the Pentagon’s policy of direct retaliation against any group that harms American warfighters. President Trump also cited the airstrikes, warning that any terrorist attack or threat against the United States will be met with overwhelming force.
