The Russia–Ukraine has put drone warfare into a hyper-development as the conflict continues to transform the very nature of modern combat—and now Russia’s newest drone, the Geran-3, is a significant leap in drone tech. The systems were first spotted earlier this year...it’s powered by a Chinese Telefly JT80 turbojet engine and can reach 230 mph, carry a 110lbs warhead/device with a 600-mile range. But the real advancement is Its stealth(ish) coating and 12-element Kometa-M12 anti-jamming system that reportedly makes it resistant to electronic countermeasures...making this drone a real threat to Ukraine (or any other future targets).

Notably, much of the Geran-3’s design relies on foreign-made components, sourced from nations including the U.S., Japan, Germany, and Switzerland. Ukraine is attempting to develop faster “interceptor drones” to counter the aerial assaults that can’t be electronically thrown off — but current models still lag slightly behind the Geran-3’s speed & tech.
