The U.S. pilots behind the dramatic June 21 strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure were invited to the White House to mark the Fourth of July....they’ll be recognized not just as heroes, but as the face of a new era in stealthy air warfare.

The multi-branch mission, dubbed Operation Midnight Hammer, involved more than 125 U.S. aircraft and a salvo of Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from a Navy nuclear-powered submarine with the goal of obliterating Tehran’s underground uranium enrichment plants with precision airpower.

Pilots flew B-2 Spirit stealth bombers (with support from F-22 Raptors & F-35 Lightning IIs) to drop 30,000-pound “bunker-buster” bombs deep into fortified nuclear facilities. At the center of the mission were the 14 B-2 pilots who reportedly spent over 36 hours airborne, with little creature comforts....it’s not a glamorous ride.

President Donald Trump confirmed their invitation to the White House during an interview with Fox News, praising the pilots’ endurance and skill: “They flew so brilliantly.”

To commemorate the mission and honor the aircrews, the White House is authorizing a 4th July flyover showcasing the same types of aircraft used in the Iran strikes. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized the symbolic significance of including the aircraft as the administration noted updated intelligence from the Defense Intelligence Agency now estimates the strike has set Iran back by at least a year—possibly closer to two.
