Iran has launched a retaliatory missile strike on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the main hub for U.S. operations in the region and home to over 10,000 American personnel. The attack came just days after the U.S. struck Iranian nuclear sites in what has become the most direct exchange between the two nations in years.  The initial “mighty” wave was downed by US & Qatari air defense systems…and there are no reported casualties.

Unconfirmed reports also state missiles may be inbound to U.A.E & Oman (again, not confirmed).

Iranian state television aired martial music and patriotic images as it declared the attack a “mighty and successful response to America’s aggression.” Witnesses in Qatar reported seeing missiles streaking overhead and hearing explosions—likely interceptors and inbound missiles. The strike came shortly after Qatar closed its airspace, signaling some foreknowledge of an imminent escalation. At the time of this post—there are no reported impacts, injuries/casualties or other damage from any inbound missiles.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian took to X shortly before the attack, writing: “We neither initiated the war nor seek it. But we will not leave invasion to the great Iran without answer.”

The Iranian Armed Forces claimed it launched “destructive and forceful missiles” at Al Udeid, which also serves as the forward HQ for U.S. Central Command. Several local media outlets confirmed both visual sightings of missiles and reports of explosions in the area.

The White House had reportedly been tracking potential threats, and according to DC-based outlets—President Trump, the Secretary of Defense & other top officials are in the White House Situation Room monitoring the situation...U.S. response is ‘developing.’
