❤️‍🩹What was supposed to be exploratory laparoscopic surgery turned out to be major Endometriosis excision surgery and I’m still processing and dealing with the emotions from relief to depression to helplessness. Maybe some answers to why I have miscarried twice, deep exhaustion and pain 

3 large deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE)  cysts. One had consumed my entire left ovary and fallopian tube, one was in my bowel. A surgical clip — left inside my body 16 years ago to the exact day when I had my appendix out when I was pregnant with Eddie

It enrages me that a CT scan from 15 years ago saw the clip and unexplained tissue attaching my stomach wall to my bladder and uterus — I had an OBGYN do exploratory laparoscopic surgery to investigate and said the scan was likely someone else’s and did nothing 😳

That doctor gaslit me.

I finally found a doctor — one who also has endometriosis herself — to finally go back in and address what had been left inside my body for 16 years.

While she was in there she found everything else.
Stage 3/4 endometriosis that never showed up on a single scan. 3 nodules silently growing likely since I was 13 years old. While doctor after doctor told me it was making up the pain and symptoms. Told to get my gallbladder out numerous times and that I had IBS and I should manage my painful periods 

I’m learning so much about Endometriosis— women with endometriosis are deficient in GLP-1 and GIP hormones that regulate inflammation throughout the entire body. I’ve started micro dosing GLP-1 to address that systemic inflammation and I’ll share more about that.

There are more surgeries ahead. More chapters to this story 

If you are a woman who has been dismissed, gaslit, or told your pain is normal... it’s not! 

Keep pushing.
Find your people.
Get a second opinion.
And then get another one.

1 in 10 women have endometriosis. Many go undiagnosed for over a decade and if you are me, many decades. You are not dramatic. You are not weak. You are not imagining it. You aren’t just In perimenopause if you are my age 

It took me decades to finally be believed.

You deserve answers so much sooner than that ❤️‍🩹
