Clear Eyes Up, Full Hearts of Hope, Can’t Lose this Fight. Hunters, Titans, and WARLOCKS showed up in a big way today for the last ride of destinythegame. 

Destiny. How do I explain what this game has meant to me over the past decade? Why saying goodbye is so hard?

Do I explain it through how it let me feel what it would be like to #BecomeLegend? Through the nights it kept me company when I was away from home? Through the eternal friendships made on fireteams and the sense of belonging in a community? Through my many hours spent reading & listening to the incredible lore of these worlds? Through the inspiration I found from the artists who worked on this massive beast? Through the nights I would take third shift when my kids were in sleep regressions and Destiny would make sure my watch wasn’t solitary? As a benchmark of different moments of a decade of life lived?

How about T-Shirts? Yeah. Let’s do T-Shirts.

My wife asked me one day, “How many #DestinyTheGame T-Shirts do you own”? My answer was almost 50. No single piece of entertainment has ever had a hold on me to the tune of almost 50 t-shirts. Some support amazing causes like raising money to support the Australian Wildfire Relief Fund and Earthquake Relief in Nepal, some specific stories, and some my own personal #MomentsOfTriumph.

I wore them all, too. Always finding other Guardians in the most unlikely places. It was a way to share a part of myself with others that loved something I loved.

So, as we run through this final stanza of Destiny, I’ll be wearing them again. A nod to the incredible team who made it and the community that played it and the folks who covered it, shoutout to Byf (I was the lore nerd of my group, Chroniclers unite!) and aztecrossgaming, and built community around it.

A monument to Triumph indeed. I will play until the wheels fall off.

Oh, and sony and playstation and bungie? Don’t forget. #WeWantDestiny3
