What a way to spend my mom’s heavenly birthday! Shoutout to Nzingha nzinghamaat.lpc of Ma’at Integrative Wellness, a Black-owned wellness center in Philadelphia, for inviting me as a VIP guest to her Full Moon Sound Bath experience. As a licensed therapist and wellness practitioner, she has created a beautiful space for healing, reflection, and community.

I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but whatever was supposed to happen last night, happened. There were moments of release, reflection, emotion, and peace. I laughed, I cried, and I left feeling lighter than when I arrived.

I also brought along two crystals I recently purchased while in Fort Lauderdale. A crescent moon crystal and a heart-shaped amethyst. Once I settled into my pod, I placed the crescent moon on my forehead and the amethyst over my heart. My intention was to charge them during the experience, but also to invite in love, comfort, peace, and the presence of my mom. 

This experience reminded me that self-care isn’t a luxury, it’s an investment. We carry so much through work, family, relationships, business, grief, and everyday life. Sometimes we need intentional spaces where we can release what no longer serves us and make room for what does.

Nzingha will be hosting another Full Moon Sound Bath on June 29th, and I highly recommend experiencing it for yourself. I’ll share the registration link once it’s available, but feel free to DM me if you’d like more information.
