A study by Heather N. Cornell, John M. Marzluff, and Shannon Pecoraro found that young American crows learned to scold specific people after observing their parents. This process is called vertical social learning. However, crows are not teaching hatred in a human sense. Instead, they are passing along survival information that helps offspring recognize and avoid perceived threats.
