A Korean influencer, InoCat(inocat_t), who has around 9 million followers across YouTube and TikTok, shared a video showing a racist incident during the Korea vs Czech Republic match, where she was targeted with a “slanted eyes” gesture while in the crowd.

The video quickly went viral, sparking widespread backlash. Local media strongly condemned the incident after identifying the perpetrator as the president of the Jalisco College of Surveying and Geospatial Engineering (CITGEJ), a professional association in Mexico. He later stepped down from his position amid growing criticism.

FIFA also announced that the influencer would be officially invited to the Mexico match, using the International Day Against Hate Speech to reaffirm its stance on eliminating racism in football.
