We spent the morning with Bryan LaRoche of BryanGolf, and I walked away with a completely different understanding of golf clubs, shafts, swing speed, and how much equipment impacts your game.

I’ve known Bryan for at least 15 years. Back in the radio days at 97.9 Kiss FM and events around Jacksonville, our paths crossed constantly. He even honored 904 Happy Hour at the Suite Awards & we won Hottest Social Media (and somehow I won Hottest Photographer in JAX 😂).

The fitting almost felt like a lesson. We started out hitting fades, then hooks, and throughout the session he was making adjustments, explaining what was happening, why it was happening, and helping me make changes that immediately improved the results. It was one of the most productive golf experiences I’ve had.

Bryan is a great golfer, instructor, listener, educator, and club builder. His knowledge of equipment is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

He taught me about shaft profiles, swing speed, materials, weight distribution, and how different sections of a shaft can perform differently throughout the swing. I had no idea how much goes into properly fitting a golf club.

One of the coolest parts was seeing his workshop. Drawer after drawer filled with shafts, heads, grips, and components from virtually every major manufacturer. Hundreds of options for men, women, beginners, competitive players, and everyone in between. Every club is built, adjusted, and customized right there in-house.

His current shop is located in Fleming Island next to Maple Street Biscuit Company, and he’s preparing to move into a much larger space this September. The new location will expand his fitting and club-building capabilities while creating more of a true golf destination, complete with a dedicated putting studio, expanded fitting areas, and several other exciting additions that will be announced in the coming months.
