## Caption

Max Fiumera started playing lacrosse when he was in kindergarten at the encouragement of friends. Those friends, teammates and the sport became even more important to him when he was diagnosed with Langerhans cell histiocytosis at 13 years old and gave him an outlet away from treatment to focus on.
