Throughout the summer, we will be highlighting current utaustintx Moody students’ internships and study abroad programs in our series, SummerxMoody!

Rising #TEXASMoody junior Valentina Avendano, a utexascld major and Professional Sales and Business Development minor, is building a career at her internship with North Development this summer in Miami, Florida!

Valentina is a Marketing and Communications Assistant who helps support brand identity across the country for various construction projects. She applies relationship building and critical thinking skills from her CLD seminar course with Dr. Drumwright to maintain client and broker connections and analyze LinkedIn performance. Outside of her internship, Valentina enjoys attending pilates, visiting the beach and trying new foods!

Valentina encourages other Moody students looking for summer internships to start early, attend internship fairs and make connections through texasexes, advice she followed when she began looking for her summer 2026 internship.

This fall, Valentina will be starting her position as the Associate Director of Communications for Student Government and will continue working at the School of Law.

“I chose this internship as a Marketing and Communications Assistant since it is the perfect mix of the two career paths I am following...Living in Miami has been my all time dream since I first visited. I can’t believe I am getting to do it now at 19.”
