⚠️ 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓: Brady Tkachuk had indicated at exit meetings after this season that he would NOT re-sign in Ottawa when his contract with the #Sens expired in 2028, according to multiple reports.

The team, faced with a decision whether to hold or trade their captain who has a full NMC for the final two years of his $8.2M AAV contract, decided to move him before word got out and became a distraction. The constant speculation regarding his future also became an annoyance in the locker room.

Tkachuk’s camp offered the Senators a 4-team trade list: #Canes, #FlaPanthers, #MNWild, and #VegasBorn.

The team had held discussions with each of these teams (with Minnesota reportedly having made a huge offer) before ultimately sending Brady to his preferred destination: to play in Florida with his brother Matthew.

Ottawa is now expected to try and use the picks acquired — 9th, 25th, ‘29 1st, ‘30 2nd — to find a new top six forward in their departed captain’s place.
