This keeps defenders guessing and opens up opportunities to get past them or set up a cross or shot. Change your direction: Encourage children to use quick, sharp movements to change direction and throw off their opponents. The more unpredictable they are, the harder it is for defenders to react! Change your foot: Remind children to always use the foot furthest from the defender when protecting the ball. This keeps their body between the defender and the ball, making it tougher for the defender to win the ball back without fouling them.
