💰 Ever wonder what becoming a doctor really costs in the US?

📚 The average cost of 4 years of medical school in the U.S. is now roughly $350,000 when tuition, fees, and living expenses are included. That’s more than double what it was 25 years ago. 📈

🏦 If you borrowed $350,000 today and repaid it over 20 years at current graduate loan interest rates, you’d end up paying back around $650,000–$700,000 in total. 😳

⏳ And that’s before considering the years spent in medical school and residency while many of your peers are already earning, investing, and building wealth.

❤️ Looking back, I’m still incredibly happy with my decision to go to medical school. I love what I do and wouldn’t trade it for anything.

💡 However, I definitely wouldn’t do it for the money. Becoming a physician is an amazing privilege, but it’s also a tremendous investment—both financially and in terms of time.  Do it because you love helping others or else you will never be happy.
