Coach Day talked about re-engineering the defense after the Oregon game and how they have turned it around stepping up BIG against Penn State where Tyliek Williams went out with an injury. Coach said Tyliek could’ve played but it was better to rest him for next week and he will be good to go. But he liked the disruption up front and the forced fumble scoop and score from JT Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer was the epitome of that.” Jack Sawyer has been due for a big play and he was SUPER excited about his touchdown…He had a celebration and everything planned but he blacked out during it so he couldn’t get to it.

With eight Buckeyes receiving passes today, Coach Day talked about how selfless this offense is because when you have so many weapons, you need lots of involvement. There’s only one football after all. “” With the 45-0 blowout, more players got reps today but Will Howard praised his receivers saying that they have…but there is not much of a drop off from the Ones to the Twos.

Last week against Penn State was the only game this season that true freshman sensation, Jeremiah Smith did not find the end zone. But he says that does not change his motivation in anyway. Jeremiah was back to scoring touchdowns this week: breaking not one, but two of Cris Carter’s records. With his ninth touchdown catch of the season, Jeremiah has now broken Carter's record for most receiving touchdowns by an Ohio State true freshman after he already passed Carter’s record for most catches for an Ohio State freshman earlier in the game. His quarterback, Will Howard, says that even as a freshman, Jeremiah is the best receiver in the country but what sets him apart is maturity…he already seems like a veteran””

Will Howard was not happy with his performance at Penn State after the pick-six and and fumble in the end zone… but today he threw for 260 yards, 3 touchdowns plus one on the ground, a great game by all means…but Will doesn’t exactly see it that way. He says there’s always room for improvement…. Will said that he’s been slipping lately and wants to clean everything up… but he has a solution for the slipping — he is getting new cleats this week.

The Buckeyes will look to keep the momentum going and we keep hearing them talk about leaving NO DOUBT— no matter the opponent. Will Howard says it’s about us, not them.

Ohio State to Chicago to face Northwestern… but they won’t be playing in your typical football stadium. In fact, it’s not even a football stadium. The Buckeyes head to Wrigley Field, the home of the Chicago Cubs. Jeremiah Smith doesn’t care much for baseball but is still excited for the special venue.
