REPORTING THE D€∆D PART 2 OF 3

This recording captures the second phone call regarding a human remains site reported during the Not Forgotten Project.

What many people may not realize is that much of this work is carried out by women.

Women who search.

Women who document.

Women who make the calls.

Women who spend their weekends helping locate the lost and provide answers to families.

That context matters.

Over the years, Battalion Search & Rescue volunteers have experienced repeated hostility, false accusations, public criticism, and the disclosure of personal information by members of the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Office.

For that reason, our volunteers take privacy and personal safety seriously.

The reporting party's name, phone number, and email are being provided.

The exact location of the site is being provided.

Photographs and a written report are being provided.

Even so, additional personal information was requested.

Our volunteers are not suspects.

They are citizens reporting the dead.

Their safety will always take precedence over unnecessary demands for additional personal information.
