Join us in amplifying Juneteenth,  with a breakdown of the many events celebrating this important holiday around the City of Austin. June 19th is a historic date both nationally and in Texas as it was the day Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the American Civil War. Here is a list of all the celebrations today:

1) Montopolis Proud Juneteenth Celebration / Friday June 19th / Two Locations:
-8:30 AM - 10:00 AM (History Montopolis Negro School, 500 Montopolis Drive, Austin, TX 78741) 
-10:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Montopolis Recreation Center, 1200 Montopolis Drive, Austin, TX 78741)

2) 2026 Juneteenth Parade / Friday June 19th at  the Corner of Leona Street and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard / 10am till 12pm

3) Juneteenth Park Festival / Friday June 19th  at the Rosewood Avenue and Boggy Creek Park / 12pm till 9:30pm

4) Juneteenth Independent Filmmaker Showcase / Friday June 19th at the Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex (1156 Hargrave St, Austin, TX 78702) / 2pm till 8pm
