✨ The Chengdu Panda Research Base is one of the best places in the world to see giant pandas up close. Founded in 1987, this conservation and research center was created to help protect China’s beloved national treasure and support panda breeding programs. Walking through the bamboo-filled grounds feels like stepping into a real-life panda sanctuary — with chances to see pandas eating, playing, climbing, and even adorable panda cubs!

VISITOR INFORMATION:

🐼 Best time to visit – Arrive early in the morning when pandas are most active and feeding.

🎟️ Tickets cost $8 per person. Advance tickets are required, especially during busy travel seasons, if you want the earliest time slot (when the Pandas are most active).

🚗 Access – Located about 30 minutes from downtown Chengdu by taxi or ride-hailing. It’s an easy stop to add to any Chengdu itinerary.
