“Going to the University of Alabama, I was excited to attend a school where I could meet people from places different from where I grew up, which was one of the main reasons I chose to come here. However, being 17 hours away from home and without any of my high school friends was definitely intimidating. I began to worry that everyone would already know each other from high school or their hometowns, and that I might feel out of place. The moment I walked into KD, that feeling completely changed. A weight lifted off my shoulders, and making friends suddenly didn’t feel intimidating anymore. I was surrounded by girls who were just as excited to meet new people as I was. Being part of KD has been one of the greatest joys of my college experience, and I feel incredibly lucky to have found so many new best friends who are always there for me and always make me feel like I can be myself”
