IT’S TIME FOR A #DOVEDUO 💜 Meet Makena and Brantly from PC ‘24

“Brantly and I met through an Alabama 2028 Instagram page and immediately clicked. We bonded over our love for the same music artists and after two days of texting, I went to my mom and told her “This is my roommate!” Three months later she was flying out to Washington to go to a Niall Horan concert for my birthday. Little did we know that we would soon be running side by side to Sigma Kappa! From hanging out at the house together to late night trips to Texaco to get her Dr. Pepper. I’m so thankful for all of the laughs, tears, and memories we have shared throughout freshman year. Transitioning from high school to college is an incredibly stressful time, but I am so glad that I had Brantly by my side to get me through it. I couldn’t have asked God for a better friend, roommate, and (thanks to SK) sister!” —Makena Holdaas 

“Once Makena and I started talking and decided to become roommates I knew she would be one of my best friends in Tuscaloosa! While going through our rush process together, we always said how crazy it would be if we ended up in the same sorority and it actually happened! Throughout my freshman year I was able to call Makena one of my best friends, my roommate and most importantly my sister. I know I can ask Kena to do anything as simple as watch a movie and she’d say yes instantly. The two of us being in the same sorority has truly allowed us to grow closer; she has now become the sister I never had. Being in Sigma Kappa together has been something that allows us to share memories, experiences and bonds that we wouldn’t have otherwise.
