Will we reach a point where it’s “too late” for nature?

We don’t think so, and ReSharkOrg is proof that no matter how bleak things may feel, nature can recover, especially with a little nudge in the right direction. 

We visited Raja Ampat, Indonesia, at the heart of the Coral Triangle where we found some of the most biologically diverse and vibrant coral reefs still left on the planet. But one iconic species was notably missing: the Indo-Pacific leopard shark.

These slow-swimming, surprisingly docile reef sharks roam the sea floor at night, hunting molluscs and crustaceans, maintaining balance in the ecosystem. Their large fins and calm demeanor made them the perfect target for the shark-finning industry, and their populations were driven to near extinction. But ReSharkOrg is changing that.

Through their StAR Project, they’re on a mission to ReWild the Indo-Pacific with leopard sharks once again. We made a short film about their incredible work. Watch it now for free for a little dose of hope — link in bio!
