Before the first strike, there was a cord. Knot by knot. Hand to hand. Passed in darkness — a message no empire could stop.

That was 1680.

The warriors are still crossing.

CONTINUUM: BLINDFALL | FIRST STRIKE — Virgil Ortiz’s most immersive work arrives at Vladem Contemporary, Santa Fe. Sculpture as prophecy. Cinematic projection as reckoning. An army of Blind Archers, Recon Watchmen, and Sentinels — crossing five centuries to carry Pueblo sovereignty forward.

Developed in collaboration with Eric Garcia and Tommy Lomeli, the work expands Ortiz’s continuum into a fully immersive encounter of image, sound, memory, and resistance.

Disoriented. Unwitnessed. Undone.
