The Met Office has issued a red warning for extreme heat in parts of England and Wales for later this week.
 
The rare warning covers central, southern and south-east England, and parts of south Wales, from 09:00 on Wednesday to 21:00 on Thursday.
 
There was already a four-day amber warning for extreme heat this week.
