CANADA JUST MADE FIFA WORLD CUP HISTORY… AND IT WASN’T JUST ONE RECORD‼️🤯⚽️🇨🇦

Canada defeated Qatar 6-0 to secure the country’s first-ever men’s FIFA World Cup victory, delivering one of the most historic performances in Canadian soccer history.

Canada scored more goals against Qatar (6) than in all of its previous FIFA World Cup appearances combined, highlighting just how historic the night truly was. 

Ottawa’s own Jonathan David became the first Canadian ever to score a World Cup hat trick, while Canada also became the first North American nation to score six goals in a single FIFA World Cup match. 

The win also became the largest margin of victory ever by a CONCACAF nation at the FIFA World Cup, surpassing previous records set by the United States and Mexico.

Ottawa’s own Jonathan David stole the show with a historic hat trick, becoming just the second CONCACAF player ever to score three goals in a World Cup match and the first to do it since 1930. He also joins Lionel Messi as the only players to score a hat trick at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The historic night didn’t stop there. Nathan Saliba scored the tournament’s first direct free-kick goal, while Qatar became the first AFC nation to receive two red cards in a single FIFA World Cup match.
