Porsche is injecting old-school sports car soul into the electric era by giving the silent Taycan a virtual, motorsport-inspired “gearbox.”

Called E-Shift, this software simulates an eight-speed PDK transmission complete with physical paddle shifters, tactical gear jolts, and realistic engine-braking.

It pairs these physical sensations with a digital tachometer and dynamic audio feedback to recreate the visceral thrill of a combustion engine on demand.
