* Alex is Antonio Freeman’s son, but chose soccer instead of football despite growing up around the NFL. 
* Born in 2004, Alex developed through the youth system at Orlando City SC before becoming a Homegrown player. 
* He became the first player in Orlando City history to go from academy → reserve team → first team → World Cup roster. 
* Won MLS Young Player of the Year in 2025 and earned MLS Best XI honors. 
* Transferred to Spanish club Villarreal CF in 2026 after a breakout MLS season. 
* At age 21, he was the youngest player on the U.S. World Cup roster. 

* Alex scored against Australia in the 2026 World Cup, giving the U.S. a 2-0 lead and adding another chapter to the Freeman family sports legacy.
