Fighters (including several women) from France, Poland and Britain battled it out using weapons, wrestling, ground work and strikes with fists, feet, elbows, knees, the head and the shield.⁣

Fighters compete in weight classes, just like boxing or judo — though kitting out is not cheap… a full set of armor costs between $3,500 and $4,500.⁣
