Scores of Ukrainian drones bore down on Moscow, hitting the Russian capital's oil refinery for the second time this week in what Kyiv cast as a demonstration of its growing capabilities that should force Russia to accept a peace deal.⁣

A video posted on social media showed a moment of explosion at the refinery in the densely populated southeastern district of Kapotnya. The refinery is supplying the Russian capital.⁣

The location of the video was confirmed from the church, road layout, vegetation and refinery in the background which matched archive and satellite imagery of the area.⁣

The date when the video was filmed was verified by a statement from Moscow Mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, confirming an attack on a nearby oil refinery and that Moscow downed dozens of drones on Thursday.⁣

"Air defense forces continue to repel a massive attack. Several drones managed to reach the Moscow oil refinery," Sobyanin said, adding that a shopping center also suffered minor damage.⁣
