One California sheriff’s office is finding a new use for its drone…
Here’s your morning minute…
Deputies in Sacramento had been at a standoff with a parolee at large.
They had seen him with a gun earlier in the day…
But he had stopped responding to negotiators.
So they sent in a drone with a heavy-duty magnet.
The guy was either passed out or pretending to be asleep.
They used the drone to remove a knife from his hands… and no one was hurt.
 
And a street racing stop in Florida had officers doing a double-take.
That’s because the driver, who was clocked doing 110 in a 45-mile-per-hour zone… is 85 years old!
He told officers a car had swerved at him, so he was following him.
Police didn’t buy it—one of the officers had witnessed him racing in his Nissan against a red Corvette.

And check out this huge fire at a tire shop in Tulare.
When firefighters arrived, they found stacks of tires fully engulfed in flames and sending huge plumes of black smoke into the sky.
Firefighters worked to quickly put the flames out before they reached any of the many houses surrounding the shop.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
