🇯🇲🌴 A stronger link between tourism and local production is on the horizon.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett, in his Tourism Sectoral Presentation in parliament on Tuesday has announced that the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, is collaborating on the establishment of the Tourism Logistics Supply Centre—a transformative initiative designed to strengthen Jamaica's tourism value chain and increase opportunities for local suppliers.

More than just a warehouse, the Centre will serve as a critical hub connecting tourism demand with Jamaican production. It will support coordination, warehousing, cold-chain capacity, inventory planning, cargo consolidation, procurement support, trade facilitation, and digital demand planning.

The initiative aims to create a more efficient and reliable supply network by linking tourism corridors, ports, airports, farms, factories, packhouses, agro-processors, manufacturers, and community producers, ensuring that more Jamaican goods and services find their way into the tourism sector.

By strengthening these connections, the Tourism Logistics Supply Centre is expected to drive economic growth, improve supply chain efficiency, and create greater opportunities for local businesses to benefit from Jamaica's thriving tourism industry.
