Behind every young football star is a team of supporters cheering them on.

Pride, gratitude, and a shared commitment to youth development were at the heart of the conversations following the third staging of the Alacta Plus Basic School Football Competition in Portmore.

The father of Devonte Garrison, who was named Boy of the Match in the semi-final for Naggo Head Infant School, beamed with pride as he reflected on his son's achievement. He credited Devonte's natural ability, the guidance of the school's football programme, and the unwavering support and encouragement from his mother for helping the young footballer thrive both on and off the field.

We also caught up with the Chadric Whyte, Competition Director of the Portmore Sports Association Limited (PSAL), who spoke about the success of the tournament and the value of its three-year partnership with Lacta Plus. He expressed appreciation for the title sponsor's continued investment in grassroots football, noting that the collaboration has created meaningful opportunities for young athletes to showcase their talent, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love for the game.
