I’m vibing to this classic by mchammer and wanted to bring back some old-school moves 🕺🏽

Let me share a little behind-the-scenes of how I create my underwater dances.

First, all my content is filmed solo—I set up my underwater camera on a step or tripod and hit record 📸. I usually repeat each dance 3-5 times, swim back, analyze the footage for mistakes, and retake until it’s just right. It takes me around 2-3 hours to create one underwater dance.

As for staying at the bottom, I avoid weight belts or ankle weights. Years ago, I trained my body to hold its breath without blacking out (don’t try this at home, I’m a pro!). When I submerge, I exhale before hitting the bottom, making my body feel like a rock 🪨 so I can dance as if I’m on land.

By the time I hit the bottom, I have only 10-15% air left in my lungs 🫁. I take a quick 15 seconds to adjust my hair/outfit, then start my dance. Each take lasts around 1 minute, with minimal air. Without this technique, I’d need weights to stay grounded.

I’m not a professional dancer, never took a dance class, but I’ve always loved dancing on my own 😊
