FIFA will consider keeping hydration breaks for future World Cups despite this year's criticism that they resemble ad-driven timeouts.

Some fans have taken to booing the stoppages, which are mandatory at all matches, regardless of location and climate.

President Gianni Infantino defended the hydration breaks as a competitive balance and will said their usage would be evaluated moving forward, per the AP.

Infantino also noted that FIFA makes no additional money on the stoppages, saying: “Broadcasters maybe, they make, they generate more. I don’t know, that’s great for them. But for us, we make zero additional revenues.”
