Commissioned by acommonpractice, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘖𝘯𝘦: 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘵-𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 draws influence from stories of Thelonious Monk practicing piano next to basketball courts in Harlem and the relationship between jazz and basketball. The work serves as a musical response to classic streetball footage. 

On Saturday, June 27, exhibiting pianist Diego Gaeta will bring a live solo piano performance to the Great Park Gallery, creating a musical backdrop for 𝘎𝘈𝘔𝘌! 𝘉𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘵𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘈𝘳𝘵. As visitors move through the exhibition, Gaeta's blend of minimal composition and improvisation will respond to the artworks around him, creating a unique experience where sound and visual art intersect.
