VO₂ max is important, but it’s NOT the full picture. To truly understand performance potential, you need to look at:

Heart & Blood Efficiency:
Heart Rate (BPM) – How hard your heart works to deliver oxygen.
FeO₂ (%) – Measures how much oxygen is left over after transport. Lower FeO₂ = better oxygen extraction.

💨 Pulmonary & Diaphragm Function:
🌬 Ventilation (L/min) – Total air moved per minute.
💨 Tidal Volume (L) – How much air you take in per breath. Higher tidal volume = stronger diaphragm control.
⌛ Respiratory Rate (BPM) – How fast you breathe. Lower rate with higher tidal volume = more efficiency.

Muscle Oxygen Utilization:
⚡ Respiratory Exchange Ratio (RER) – Tells you whether you’re burning fat or carbs for fuel. Lower RER at high output = better mitochondrial efficiency.
💪 VCO₂ vs. VO₂ Balance – If VCO₂ rises too fast, mitochondria aren’t keeping up.

💡 Understanding these metrics = training smarter. High VO₂ max? Great. But if your breathing and oxygen use aren’t efficient, you’re leaving performance on the table.

📲 Drop a 💨 in the comments if you want to test these metrics for yourself
