Please help us cheer on #brothers, Jackson and Lincoln! Both boys are thriving despite #kidney conditions and other serious health problems. 

Big brother, Jackson, has chronic #kidneydisease, congenital urethral conditions and, as a result, underwent multiple kidney and #bladder surgeries with Dr. Hillary Copp. Laura, Jackson’s mother, became his foster mother soon after birth and adopted him at 18 months old. At the time, doctors believed he would need a #kidneytransplant while in preschool or kindergarten. Jackson is now 10 and hasn’t needed a transplant yet! 

In 2024, Laura received a life-changing call: Jackson’s biological mother had another baby. Laura welcomed Lincoln home directly from the #NICU and officially adopted him just before his first birthday in April 2025. 

Lincoln has faced health challenges of his own, including a ureteropelvic junction obstruction, which blocks the flow of urine from the kidney, and #Sticklersyndrome, a genetic condition that can affect vision, hearing, joints and movement. He also had surgery with Dr. Copp and continues to receive care at UCSF alongside his big brother. 

Despite their complex medical journeys, both boys are thriving. Jackson loves history, reading with his mom, sports and playing golf with his grandpa. He also loves cheering on the Savannah Bananas (thesavbananas) and sacramentokings. He and Laura have a goal of visiting all 50 states and have already explored 19, including recent trips to Tennessee and North Carolina. Jackson’s favorite adventure so far has been traveling to Alaska — and he and Laura are excited to bring Lincoln along for many more adventures ahead!
