Unsung Hero Award 🏆

Huge congratulations to our first winner: Lauren Dare, University of Manchester 🙌

First joining the club through their intro to rugby program and then going on to be a Social Sec in her 2nd Year, Captain of the 2nd team in her this year and now Club Captain in her fourth year and has demonstrated unwavering commitment in every role she has taken on.  

As 2XV Captain, she has transformed a struggling side with just three returning players into a thriving team with a consistent surplus of players. She leads not only through her performance on the pitch but through her constant encouragement and support of others. 

She goes out of her way to uplift teammates, whether that’s organising club activities or creating meaningful personal touches to celebrate player milestones. Beyond her formal responsibilities, she dedicates hours each week to producing the club newsletter, Scrum Down, keeping players, supporters, and alumni connected and engaged.  

Much of what she does goes unseen and unrecognised, and she would never seek acknowledgment for it but that is exactly what makes her so deserving of this award.
