## Caption

Chicago native and historian Shermann “Dilla” Thomas shares why the opening of the Obama Presidential Center is such a significant moment for the South Side.

More than a presidential landmark, the Center is a celebration of the South Side’s lasting influence—a place where culture, community, and history continue to shape the future.

As Dilla reminds us, Chicago’s South Side has always been a place where history is made. ✨

A powerful new chapter for a community that has shaped generations.
