If you guessed Pluto, you’d be correct! This photo was snapped by our New Horizons spacecraft 11,000 miles away from the dwarf planet, just after its closest approach. The scene captured here is 780 miles wide.
 
In this wide shot, you’re looking at a near-sunset view of a craggy mountain range and smooth ice plains. The icy mountains on the left reach up to 11,000 feet high, and the smooth plain to the right is nicknamed Sputnik Planitia. You might recognize Sputnik as part of the distinctive heart shape on Pluto’s surface.
