Opposites attract and similarities repel. That's true in magnetism, and in many ways, it's true in relationships too.

A lot of women say they want a masculine man. A provider. A protector. A leader. A man who's confident, decisive, and has his life together. Then they make the mistake of believing they need to become those same traits in order to attract him.

But attraction doesn't always work that way.

The qualities you admire in someone are not necessarily the qualities they're looking for in a partner. A masculine man isn't usually searching for another version of himself. He's looking for balance, not competition. Strength doesn't seek more strength in the same form. It seeks complementary energy.

If you want to attract a masculine man, it's worth asking whether you're cultivating the feminine qualities that naturally complement masculine leadership, confidence, and direction. Because the traits that attract you to him may not be the same traits that attract him to you.

Many people today are encouraged to become more aggressive, more dominant, more independent, and more career-focused, believing those traits increase their desirability.
