Details from Portugal’s first win at the 2026 World Cup. 🇵🇹 

There’d been a lot of talk ahead of this one. Could Ronaldo still cut it at this level? Following braces by Haaland, Mbappe, and Messi earlier on matchday 2, this game against Uzbekistan suddenly turned into one where everything was at stake. Standing on the pitch, you could feel the tension all over the stadium ahead of kickoff. But just six minutes in, CR7 got his first goal of the tournament, and before halftime he already had his brace. The whole Portuguese squad put on an impressive performance too, with the likes of Nuno Mendes, Bruno Fernandes, and Rafa Leao shining throughout. It was a dream to get to cover this one, especially catching Ronaldo do his iconic SIIIIIIUUUU. A day we won’t soon forget!
