As the Mano Watsa Summer Camp US Tour rolls on, we aren't just focused on developing elite athletes on the floor—we're focused on helping parents support that growth at home.

In this behind-the-scenes discussion our coaches talk about the critical window when a player first returns home. The truth is, the way you react can either fuel their momentum or completely squash it.

If you want your child to get the absolute most out of their PGC experience, make sure you avoid these two common post-camp pitfalls:

1️⃣ Raising your expectations and conveying disappointment.
It takes time for new habits to stick. If you don't see every single concept instantly translate to their game the next day, stay patient. Conveying frustration will only make them play with hesitation.

2️⃣ Applying immediate pressure.
Saying things like, "I thought you learned how to train harder," or "I thought you were going to stay focused" will only kill their drive.

💡 "Motivation grows when it’s protected, not policed."

When parents police the progress, the motivation dies. But when you protect their enthusiasm, support their efforts, and trust the process, that is when you unlock real growth. 👇🎥
