There was a time when I thought I was already carrying as much as I possibly could.

Then life handed me challenges I never saw coming.

A widowmaker heart attack.

The loss of my sister.

My fiancée’s breast cancer diagnosis.

Not because those moments define me—but because they taught me something I couldn’t have learned any other way.

We often underestimate ourselves. We think we’ve reached our limit, when in reality we haven’t yet discovered what we’re capable of.

Looking back, I don’t just see someone who survived.

I see someone whose capacity grew through adversity.

Sometimes the hardest seasons of our lives don’t just change our circumstances.

They change how we see ourselves.
