Marking the artist’s first major solo museum exhibition, 'The Day I Saw the Evening Star’ brings together around 45 works from the late 1950s to the present day.⁠

Yoko Matsumoto: ‘In my paintings, darkness could be white, blue, and indeed, pink […] where there is light there is naturally always darkness, whether I work in acrylics or oils, I always feel that I am always pursuing this alternation in my work.’⁠

During the exhibition, Fuchu Art Museum will host a programme of events:⁠
