I don’t know if trees absorb negative energy.

But I do know that grief can make the world feel unbearably heavy.

And sometimes the only thing that helped was stepping outside.

A walk.

A quiet forest.

The sound of waves.

The feeling of sunlight on my face.

Not because it fixed anything.

Not because the grief disappeared.

But because for a moment, I could breathe again.

Looking back, I think nature gave me something grief was constantly taking away:

Space.

Space to think.

Space to cry.

Space to remember.

Space to feel connected to the people I love and miss.

Maybe that’s why so many grieving people find themselves drawn to forests, beaches, mountains, parks, and gardens.

Not because they need answers.

But because they need somewhere for their love to go.
